From daily meals to wellness services, tutoring to transportation, all the campus resources are here.

Small classes—averaging 25 students—are taught by dedicated faculty members who provide thorough instructing and mentoring. At Dougherty Family College (DFC), you will strengthen your leadership skills to succeed in college and, ultimately, your careers. Every student receives one-on-one advising and mentorship. Every student is prepared to make a difference in creating a more ethical and just society.

    Yes, college can be affordable. The average out-of- pocket cost per year for a Pell-eligible student is $2,095* and the lowest student cost is $1,036*. (*for students whole filed the FAFSA in 2024-25)

    Dining Services

    Dougherty Family College students get up to 10 free breakfast or lunch meals each week to use at the Cornerstone Kitchen on the Minneapolis campus or at The View on the St. Paul campus.

    Transportation

    Students are provided with a Metro Transit pass to help make the commute more manageable. Our downtown Minneapolis location is accessible via bus, light rail or the free St. Thomas shuttle that runs between St. Paul and Minneapolis campuses.

    Your Health and Wellness Matters

    Information About Counseling and Support

    You don’t need to face your challenges alone. Our Counselor/Life Skills Coach provides mental health services, helps secure academic accommodations and access campus and community resources, and offers individual and group counseling.

    Housing

    DFC is a commuter college, so you can focus on your studies without the stress of moving from home and family. On-campus housing is not available. If you need housing, you’ll have help finding convenient off-campus options in Minneapolis or St. Paul.
