During your second year, our college transfer counselor will help you prepare for your journey to a four-year college to earn a bachelor's degree. After you graduate from Dougherty Family College (DFC), our college persistence counselor will support you to make sure you're successful in your new academic environment.

After students graduate from DFC, they are ready for the next step:

• Continue at St. Thomas - students with a 2.5 GPA or above and in good standing with the University earn automatic admission into our four-year program.
• Transfer to another Minnesota college or university, our courses align with the Minnesota Transfer Curriculum (MnTC).

Guaranteed Admission into Four-Year Degree Programs

If you graduate from the Dougherty Family College with a 2.5 GPA or above and have a satisfactory disciplinary record with the University, you’ll earn guaranteed admission into the four-year degree program at St. Thomas. Continue your journey as a Tommie as you earn your bachelor’s degree and join 63% of the 2024 DFC graduates who decided to attend at the University of St. Thomas to continue their education!

Transferring Outside of St. Thomas

Our courses were designed to align with the Minnesota Transfer Curriculum (MnTC). This means your coursework at DFC will count toward your 4-year college degree if you choose to transfer and should be recognized by colleges or universities in the Minnesota State System.
