Applying to DFC
We make applying to the Dougherty Family College (DFC) easy for you. Just submit the online application, send us your high school transcript and we'll have everything we need.
Applications will be reviewed and decisions made on a rolling basis—meaning as soon as we get your application we will review it, there is no waiting around, we will contact you within a few weeks.

Send your academic transcript to the University of St. Thomas. Your school may send an official copy OR you may download an unofficial transcript from your school system and email it to admissions@stthomas.edu or send via mail to:

Please note that an OFFICIAL transcript will be required prior to starting classes at Dougherty Family College for students who enroll. This official transcript will need to be sent directly from your school and include your graduation date.
Before you attend Dougherty Family College, you’ll need to submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or Minnesota Dream Act Application. If additional documents are needed for the FAFSA, we will contact you. Requests for additional documents needed to complete the Dream Act will come from Minnesota’s Office of Higher Education.
Once you have been admitted, the next step is to submit your deposit. You may either submit your deposit online or mail in your deposit.

This deposit is refundable if requested in writing by June 1.
About the Ideal DFC Candidate
Dougherty Family College scholars:
- Are interested in getting a four-year (bachelor’s) degree after DFC
- Have a high school GPA of 2.5 or above
- Demonstrate a high level of financial need
