Admissions and Financial Aid

We want college to be affordable and accessible for students with a drive to succeed. That’s why we don’t require the ACT, and we provide generous financial aid.

Admissions Requirements

An ideal candidate for admission to our associate degree program will:

  • Have earned a 2.5 GPA or higher in high school
  • Demonstrate financial need at a level that qualifies for Dougherty Family College institutional aid.
    • For the 2018-19 academic year, Dougherty Family College institutional aid will be offered to all admitted students with an EFC (expected family contribution) of less than $5,000, as determined through the FAFSA or Minnesota Dream Act application.
  • Be able to tell us in an interview how you have demonstrated perseverance, resilience and a commitment to achieving personal goals. Not all applicants will be invited to interview.
